Cancellation Policy

Last updated: May 8, 2026

Plain summary

Cancel any time. Your sites stay live for 30 days after cancellation. You can export everything you generated (JSON always, HTML on Pro and above) at any point during and after the grace period. Custom domains stay registered to you. Reactivate within 30 days and the site stays live without interruption.

1. Cancellation triggers a 30-day grace

When you cancel a Rankary subscription, your sites stay live and reachable on [slug].rankary.com (or the connected custom domain) for 30 days after cancellation. The cancellation email confirms the exact date and time the grace period ends.

2. HTML export available throughout grace

On Pro and above, you can export a static HTML snapshot of every site you own at any point during the grace period. The export bundles all images into a single zip with relative paths so the site is fully self-contained. No dependency on Rankary’s CDN after export.

3. JSON content export available always

The structured SiteContent JSON for every site can be downloaded at any time, including before cancellation. This contains every word and image URL the site renders, in a format that can be imported into any other CMS or website builder.

4. Custom domains stay yours

If your site uses a custom domain (for example, bobs-plumbing.com), the domain registration remains yours. Rankary never holds the registration. After cancellation, point the DNS records wherever you want.

5. After 30 days

The site is taken offline (HTTP 410). The subdomain on rankary.com becomes available again for new customers after 14 additional days, so an accidental cancellation does not instantly expose your slug to a competitor.

6. Data retention after takedown

The full JSON content, image archive, and generation logs remain in our database for 90 days after the grace period ends. You can request a one-time data export during this window at matt.b.edward@gmail.com. After 90 days the content is permanently deleted.

7. Reactivation

Within the 30-day grace period: re-subscribe and the site stays live without interruption.

Within the additional 90-day data retention window: re-subscribing requires a manual restore. Email matt.b.edward@gmail.com and we will copy the stored content back into the live database within one business day.

After 90 days: the data is permanently deleted and cannot be restored. You can re-generate from your Google Business Profile, which will pick up your current reviews and photos.

8. Refunds

Pro: pro-rated refund for unused time on cancellation. Email matt.b.edward@gmail.com with your account email and we will process the refund within 5 business days.

Agency: no refund mid-cycle. Auto-renewal is stopped immediately on cancellation; the current billing period continues until its scheduled end date.

Free: nothing to refund. Sites on the Free tier follow the same 30-day grace plus 90-day retention timeline as paid sites.

9. Lead-form data

On cancellation, all pending lead-form submissions are exported to CSV and emailed to the account email address within 24 hours. We do not retain lead data past the 90-day retention window.

10. Search Console submissions

On Pro and above we submit your sitemap to Google Search Console as part of the publish flow. When your site goes offline at the end of the grace period, Google’s crawler will eventually re-index the missing pages as 410-Gone. You can speed this up by removing the property from your Search Console account.
